What is ISAM?

“Indian Society for Applied Mechanics (ISAM)” is an All India registered body under “The Tamilnadu Society Registration Act, 1975”. The society was registered on 17th October 2016 and its registration number is 539/2016.


  • To foster the diffusion of useful knowledge pertaining to the Science and Engineering of Mechanics of Solids, Mechanics of Fluids, Biomedical Engineering, Engineering Materials and Design Engineering among the members of the Society.
  • To bring together Engineers and Scientists engaged in any or all aspects of Applied Mechanics, for pooling the experiences and knowledge to solve technical problems of the society.
  • To promote the intellectual welfare of the members of the Society by organizing periodical meetings for discussing and publishing scientific papers on subjects connected with applied mechanics.
